Best soccer bars in Kansas City — the ranked list

Nine verified KC soccer bars for World Cup 2026 matchdays — Power & Light, Westport, South KC, and the Cauldron's official watch-party network.

See Kansas City watch parties May 14, 2026 · Pitch Party editors

Nine Kansas City soccer bars verified through at least two primary sources as established venues that show soccer and will broadcast World Cup 2026 matches. Ranked by matchday atmosphere — the combination of dedicated soccer programming, supporter-club ties, screen setup, and crowd energy rather than purely screen count.

Method. Cross-referenced from Matador Network’s KC World Cup bar guide, the Sporting KC official pub-network page, the Kansas City Cauldron’s watch-party list, KCUR’s sports-bar guide, Visit KC’s sports-bar directory, the Power & Light District venue listings, and KCTV5. Inclusion required at least 2 source overlaps. Bars that appeared in only one source were not named — they show up in the “What’s NOT on this list” section instead.

1 — No Other Pub by Sporting KC (Power & Light District)

1370 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64106

The editorial pick isn’t a close call. No Other Pub is Sporting KC’s official bar — named for the supporters’ “No Other Club” chant — and it’s been the downtown anchor for KC soccer since it opened in 2016. The Power & Light District and Sporting KC officially celebrated the bar’s 10th anniversary this year, per Sporting KC’s own reporting. The setup is right: a 10-by-15-foot video wall, multiple TVs throughout a sprawling two-bar layout, bowling lanes, golf simulators, and a street-taco bar. It’s not trying to be a quiet pub — it’s built for crowd noise. For Argentina vs Algeria on June 16, this is where 200 people will be packed before kickoff, which is either exactly what you want or exactly what you’re trying to avoid.

Hours: closed Monday through Wednesday. Thursday 4 p.m.–midnight. Friday–Saturday 4 p.m.–2 a.m. Sunday 11 a.m.–8 p.m.

Best for: marquee 2026 matchdays where you want a stadium-scale crowd without a stadium ticket.

2 — KC Bier Co (South KC / Waldo-adjacent)

310 W 79th St, Kansas City, MO 64114

The most soccer-specific bar on this list that isn’t Sporting KC-branded. KC Bier Co is modeled on a Munich beer hall — helles, dunkels, kellerbier on tap, Bavarian-breakfast specials on weekend match mornings — and it has deep ties to the soccer community, per Matador Network’s KC World Cup guide. The Kansas City Cauldron reserves two tables with 20 seats here for every supporter watch; the number expands based on attendance. Bundesliga and Champions League are the regular program, which means this is the bar where Austrian and German fans will show up in force for the Algeria vs Austria match at Arrowhead on June 27. It’s dog-friendly on the outdoor section and kid-friendly until late afternoon — good for a noon kickoff with families in tow.

Hours: Tuesday–Thursday and Sunday 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Closed Monday.

Best for: European match days, Austria/Germany/Netherlands watch crowds, afternoon family matches before 5 p.m.

3 — Strange Days Brewing Co (River Market)

316 Oak St, Kansas City, MO 64106

Inside the historic City Market warehouse, on the free streetcar line — which matters when parking anywhere near the Power & Light District is a $30 gamble on matchday. Strange Days runs retro TVs, arcade games, and rotating global beer selections. KCUR names it as the official Kansas City Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Club home bar; the Cauldron also runs watch parties here, with 10% off draft pours for anyone in Sporting KC or Cauldron gear. It’s scrappier and more neighborhood-feel than No Other Pub — less spectacle, more character. Kids allowed. Streetcar makes it easy to connect to Power & Light for a second match if you want to bar-hop a doubleheader.

Hours vary week to week — the Strange Days social feed is the most reliable source. Generally 9 a.m.–10 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Sunday.

Best for: Tottenham supporters, families on the streetcar, anyone who wants to escape the Power & Light crowd density.

4 — Dos Lokos (Westport)

401 Westport Rd, Kansas City, MO 64111

Westport is Kansas City’s densest bar-hopping neighborhood — you can walk a doubleheader without losing your tab. Dos Lokos is the Cauldron’s watch-party venue on that stretch, with 10% off during watch parties for anyone wearing Sporting KC or Cauldron gear. The menu is Tex-Mex — decent street tacos, solid margaritas, cold draft beer — and the sidewalk crowd outside pulls in passers-by during big matches. It’s the natural home for a Mexico match crowd given both the kitchen and the neighborhood vibe. The Sporting KC pub-network lists Dos Lokos as a Gold Pub Partner, which puts it at the top of the official tier.

Hours: check ahead — Westport bars keep varied weekday hours and typically open by noon for Saturday kickoffs.

Best for: El Tri matches, Westport neighborhood pub-hop doubleheaders, Cauldron supporters on the west side.

5 — Boulevard Brewing Beer Hall (Crossroads / Southwest Boulevard)

2501 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108

Kansas City’s largest brewery — and the one that’s been shipping Space Camper IPA to bars across the metro for over a decade. The Beer Hall side of the building is committed to World Cup 2026 events with large screens and full match programming, per Matador Network’s guide. Boulevard even welcomed Dutch fans specifically with a Blood Orange Ale brewed in partnership with its Amsterdam sister brewery, per KCTV5. The Crossroads Arts District sits a 15-minute walk away. For a 6 or 7 p.m. CT kickoff where you want brewery-scale atmosphere without the downtown crush, this is the move — show up for the tap room, stay for the match.

Hours: Monday–Tuesday noon–8 p.m. Wednesday–Thursday noon–9 p.m. Saturday–Sunday 11 a.m.–9 p.m.

Best for: Netherlands fan crowds, brewery-atmosphere matchdays, evening Group Stage games in the Crossroads corridor.

6 — The Brooksider Sports Bar and Grill (Brookside)

6330 Brookside Plaza, Kansas City, MO 64113

Fifty-plus HD TVs across a multi-room setup in the Brookside neighborhood — the highest confirmed screen count on this list, per the Brooksider’s own venue page. The Sporting KC pub-network lists it as a Gold Pub Partner for 2026, which means every Sporting away match gets dedicated programming and in-venue specials. Brookside is quieter and more residential than Power & Light — the right choice if you live in the southern districts of the city and don’t want to drive in. For matchday crowds at capacity on a big Group Stage game, it can rival No Other Pub in volume without the parking headache of downtown.

Hours: check brooksider.com — hours extend on match days and major events.

Best for: South-KC and Brookside residents, large groups wanting a neighborhood feel, anyone avoiding downtown parking.

7 — Ugly Joe’s Sports Bar and Grill (South KC)

1227 W 103rd St, Kansas City, MO 64114

The screen argument: 30+ HD TVs, several running 96-inch displays, no bad seat in the house. Matador Network and KCUR both name Ugly Joe’s as a South KC staple with a crowd that shows up for everything from Royals games to Champions League midweeks. The vibe is neighborhood sports bar — no-frills menu, beer buckets, the “Montana” sauce on everything — which makes it the right call for group watches where your friends aren’t all soccer heads but you still want match access. There are probably louder bars for a USA match. There isn’t a better-equipped one for watching four screens at once during a Group Stage day when two matches run simultaneously.

Hours: Tuesday–Thursday and Sunday 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Closed Monday.

Best for: Multi-match Group Stage days, friends who want sports-bar comfort over supporter-pub energy.

8 — Varsity Club (Downtown / River Market area)

319 Delaware St, Kansas City, MO 64105

Retro cocktail bar, Sporting KC official pub partner, and the bar that shares its outdoor space with Disco Burger — a local food truck whose presence explains a lot about why the outdoor section draws a crowd. The cocktail list is specific ($8 shooters, Cowboy Killer, Monkeygun) where most sports bars are generic. Matador Network and the Sporting KC pub-network both confirm it as an official partner, meaning it’ll show every SKC match and run giveaways and specials during match days. For the World Cup, it’s a downtown alternative to No Other Pub’s heavier-production setup — close enough to Power & Light to walk between the two venues.

Hours: Sunday–Monday 4 p.m.–midnight. Thursday–Saturday 4 p.m.–1:30 a.m. Closed Tuesday–Wednesday.

Best for: Craft-cocktail crowd, post-work early evening kickoffs, anyone wanting a smaller crowd than No Other Pub with similar Sporting KC energy.

9 — Johnny’s Tavern P&L (Power & Light District)

1310 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64106

The century-old Kansas institution that transplanted from Lawrence and anchored in Power & Light. KCUR specifically names Johnny’s as the Kansas City US Soccer supporters’ club watch-party home — for any match involving the USMNT, this is where the American supporters’ section gathers. Multiple TVs running multiple games simultaneously, one of KC’s largest gluten-free menus (useful for a mixed-diet friend group on matchday), and late-night hours that outlast most of its neighbors. The vibe trends college-sports and college-fan rather than soccer-specific, which cuts both ways — the crowd is welcoming for casual fans, less charged for deep soccer culture.

Hours: Sunday–Thursday 11 a.m.–1 a.m. Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–2 a.m.

Best for: USA World Cup matches, casual mixed groups, anyone who needs a kitchen open past midnight after a late CT kickoff.

What’s NOT on this list and why

A few obvious gaps worth naming:

Mae’s Tavern (Westport). It’s on the Cauldron’s official watch-party list with a 20% discount for members, and it appeared in the E3 Kansas City city pillar. We couldn’t verify it in two independent primary sources in our cross-referencing pass for this E5 list — it appears primarily through the Cauldron’s own list rather than editorial coverage. It’s almost certainly fine. We just can’t rank it.

River Bluff Brewing (River Market). Cauldron venue, $1 off pints in SKC/Cauldron gear — also appeared in the city pillar. Same situation: single-source editorial confirmation for this list. Worth trying on a midweek Champions League night; just not ranked here.

McFadden’s Sports Saloon (Power & Light). Matador Network mentions it as a reliable Power & Light overflow option and confirmed soccer broadcaster. One strong source isn’t two. It’s walkable from No Other Pub and a reasonable backup if No Other Pub is at capacity.

The Quaff Sports Bar and Grill (Quality Hill). Matador Network names it as a casual, veteran-owned venue with a history of welcoming soccer watch crowds. Again — one source. The Quaff is probably good. We can’t rank what we can’t cross-reference.

Specific Mexican-American supporter venues in KCK’s Argentine and Armourdale neighborhoods. The community is real, deep-rooted since 1915 per KCUR, and will absolutely be watching El Tri. But we couldn’t verify a specific named bar in those neighborhoods against two independent editorial sources. Dos Lokos and Añejo in Legends are the closest verified options in the right geographic corridor.

The editorial standard here: if a bar appeared in one strong source, we mention it here. If it appeared in two, it got a spot on the list.

How to use this list for 2026

For the June 16 Argentina vs Algeria opener. No Other Pub will be at capacity — show up 90 minutes early or use Pitch Party to RSVP a specific watch party if one’s been listed. KC Bier Co is the best alternative; Argentine and German fan communities both converge there for Group J fixtures.

For early-morning European kickoffs. Strange Days opens at 9 a.m. on Saturdays. KC Bier Co serves Bavarian breakfast starting at 11 a.m. For a match with an 8 or 9 a.m. CT kickoff, call ahead — most KC bars don’t reliably open that early unless it’s a marquee USA fixture.

Kids-welcome windows. KC Bier Co until late afternoon (kid and dog-friendly outdoor section). Strange Days is kid-friendly through the City Market hours. Boulevard Brewing Beer Hall works for families on weekday evening matches. After 9 p.m. CT at any downtown venue, you’re in adult-only territory.

The Westport doubleheader play. Dos Lokos for the noon CT match, walk to Mae’s Tavern for the 3 p.m. CT match — or reverse it. You can hold a table for both without a car. This is the right move for a Group Stage day with two solid matches scheduled.

For USA matches specifically. Johnny’s Tavern P&L is the US Soccer supporters’ club home per KCUR. No USA group-stage matches are at Arrowhead — the USA World Cup matches run at SoFi (Los Angeles), MetLife (New York/New Jersey), and Lumen Field (Seattle). KC fans watching USA will be in bars, not in the stadium. Johnny’s handles that crowd well.

RSVP recommendations. For the four Group Stage matches at Arrowhead — June 16, 20, 25, 27 — every bar on this list will be busier than normal by an hour before kickoff. The Cauldron-network bars (KC Bier Co, Dos Lokos, Strange Days) fill with gear-wearing supporters who arrive early. For the July 3 Round of 32 and July 11 Quarterfinal, expect the crowd to roughly double what you saw in the group stage. Drop a Pitch Party private link in your group chat before game week so the plan is locked in before everyone’s scrambling for a seat.
